New player guide
Haven is a 2x modded PvP server with weekly wipes, quads maximum and no allies. This page covers what you need for your first wipe: how to get in, how the server differs from vanilla Rust, and where to go when something goes wrong.
Getting in
Open Rust, press F1 to bring up the console, and type client.connect play.rusthaven.co.uk then press Enter. You can also search for Haven in the in-game server browser and add it to your favourites so it is there next wipe.
The server is hosted in Europe, so players in the UK and the rest of Europe get the best ping.
What is different from vanilla
2x gather and 2x stacks. Nodes, trees and barrels give twice the vanilla amount, and stacks hold twice as much, so you spend less time running between boxes.
Fast smelting and crafting. Furnaces and crafting queues move quicker than vanilla, so you are kitted out sooner after a wipe.
Shared blueprints. What one member of your team learns, the rest of the team learns too. Split the research between you and nobody wastes scrap learning the same thing twice.
Quads maximum, no allies. Four players at most. If you fight, farm or raid with another group you count as one group, teamed in game or not.
Your first hour
Build away from the big monuments for your first base. Roads and the ground around monuments get busy on wipe night.
Put a Tool Cupboard down as soon as your first foundation is placed, and use a code lock rather than a key lock on your door.
Upgrade to stone before you log off. On 2x, stone comes in fast, and a twig base will not be there in the morning.
Put a sleeping bag somewhere away from your base, so dying does not always mean a long run back.
Spread your loot across more than one box, and do not go roaming with everything you own in your inventory.
Wipe day
The server wipes every Thursday at 7pm UK time. The map, bases and items reset, and everybody starts again on the same day. The countdown on the home page always shows the next one.
On the first Thursday of each month Facepunch releases the game update and every Rust server wipes. On those days the server comes back once the update is out, so it can be a little after 7pm.
Things to do outside the game
Sign in on this site through Steam. It takes a few seconds and connects your stats, Points and purchases to you.
Earn Points for every hour you play, every day you come back and every vote, then spend them in the store.
Vote for Haven on Rust-Servers.net from the Points page for 25 free Points, every 12 hours. It is also the biggest single thing you can do to help new players find the server.
Check the leaderboards. The top three on Top Fragger and Top Hunter are paid in Points at the end of every wipe.
Find a team on the team board if you want a duo, trio or quad. Your real kills, deaths and hours on Haven show under your post.
When something goes wrong
Read the rules before your first night. They are short, and they are enforced the same way for everybody.
For a cheater, an item lost to a bug, an order that did not arrive or a ban appeal, open a ticket. It keeps a record and does not get lost in a DM. For everything else, ask in Discord.
